Portraits in Paris are always a good idea….OK I know that isn’t quite what Audrey Hepburn said but it is true!
While things are very very difficult for everyone at the moment its lovely to reminisce – and maybe look forward to a time when we are able to plan holidays and travels once more.
I am looking back to this time last year when I travelled to France to shoot lifestyle portraits in Paris of four gorgeous ladies, in fabulous gowns, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world!
Dancing in the rain for portraits in Paris
In order to make the most of our time you need to shoot very early in order to avoid the crowds AND get that beautiful morning light! First stop was the Trocadero with Morgane and a view of the La Dame de Fer (the Iron Lady). The weather wasn’t exactly ideal as we were hit by a spot of rain…..but this really didn’t matter at all!
Parisian chic in a Hausmann apartment
When shooting Paris portraits you do not always need a big monument or famous landmark. Sometimes simplicity is best. So for portraits of Anne we used a beautiful Parisian apartment in the 17th Arrondisment. It was the epitome of Parisian chic!
Portraits in Paris: Pont Alexandre III
Our third location used was back in the centre of Paris. The city is stunning and there are location options everywhere – I particularly love the backdrop of the Pont Alexandre III bridge for Julia’s photo’s.
Classical elegance at the Louvre
A destination portrait shoot in Paris really must include a little time spent in Tuileries Gardens. There are many beautiful back drops and quiet spots that are perfect for classic elegant portraits. We were fortunate that the sun made an appearance so we made the most of our time there before moving round to the famous Louvre with Lyria.
I have to say thank you to Portrait madame for ensuring that this shoot went so brilliantly!! Next time – NEW YORK!
While it may seem like a long way off its always good to dream! So, if you would like a dream destination portrait shoot in Paris (or any other city!) please get in touch – I would love to work with you to make it wonderful experience, and make sure you have images that you can treasure!
In the meantime stay safe, stay home and take care!
